(recent edits -- christ, I was behind in updating this stupid wiki)
I got involved with online gaming on The Sierra Network, which changed names to the ImagiNation Network (TSN/INN) way back in 1994, playing Red Baron (probably the first PvP simulator game on any sort of 'Net) and then The Shadow of Yserbius, where I got involved with roleplaying over text. When AT&T finally bought and closed INN in 1996, I moved to MUDs, and became an Admin of an Envy 2.0 MUD called Castle Arcanum.
After a year or two there, I decided to move on, and started playing Asheron's Call, and was selected as a member of the AC Online Team in early beta. It was during this time that I met Vidguy, as he was the Advocate Team Manager under whom I worked. When AC released in September of 1999, I was named as one of the six World Overseers (for the world of Harvestgain), supervising a volunteer team of 80 Advocates that assisted with in-game help requests. In June of 2000, I was hired on as a paid Online Team manager over all AC Online Team training, facilitating and creating training programs for all new volunteers. When MS disbanded the AC Online Team in February of 2001, my desire to play AC waned, and I left the game by May to look elsewhere.
Vid and I later started a guild in Dark Age of Camelot, and we played that through February of 2002. I spent much of the next year looking for a new persistent game to play, trying games such as Anarchy Online and Asheron's Call 2, though none of them were truly any good. Finally, around June of 2003, I began playing a game called PlanetSide, and hooked up with a great outfit called Bellum Aeternus. I finished CCT in July of 2003, and worked hard in the Spirit sphere developing and furthering advanced spirit tactics, including teaching the Instructor Squad Leader training. I was elevated to the position of Legate on August 16, 2003, and though I stopped playing PS a few months later, I have been fortunate enough to help further and develop the Bellum Aeternus "vehicle" into what you see today.
I assisted in the way-back-when creation days of the first WoW province that BA had (now WoW:KT), and played actively in our short-lived Battlefield 2 province. I created the role of Community Governor (with my attached-at-the-hip twin-brother Vidguy), which had me working to ensure that Bellum Aeternus continues to have something to offer its members apart from provincial benefits. I was fortunate enough to have advised the Eve Online province through its creation. I resigned this position in October of 2007, and now sit around and look important.
I also acted as the Bellum Aeternus "treasurer", and was responsible for managing our vast hoards of wealth. (Read: I rolled the pennies and took them to the grocery store.)
What do I play?
League of Legends
Dungeon Siege III
What am I looking forward to?
PlanetSide 2 I want to fight for the right for SaintPeter to sing!
