Greetings from the EVE Online Province of Bellum Aeternus! It is time for another update on your most mysterious and incognito Province, and believe me when I say there have been a huge amount of changes over the last few weeks.
In the last update, you were given a little information about living in null-security space and about how the alliance Imperial 0rder (of which Bellum Aeternus is part of) had grown to control one of the regions of EVE. I wanted to give you a quick summary of the current political climate in EVE so you can have a deeper insight on events. Corporations of players (the Outfits/Guilds/Clans) usually range from anywhere from 20-200 people, with Bellum Aeternus falling in the mid range of this with roughly 60-70 members. Corporations group together to form Alliances which can have hundreds or thousands of members. Imperial 0rder was one of the larger Alliances, with roughly 2,000 members in it. Coalitions are groups of Alliances, which can have anywhere from 5,000 to 40,000 or more members in them. These Coalitions have Non-Aggression Pacts between member Alliances, and will help each other defend their space along with sharing intelligence and access to their regions.
For the last year, the Coalition that Bellum Aeternus was a part of has been constantly at war, as they were claiming back all the space they had lost from a previous invasion. Since Imperial 0rder was a big contributor to this effort, we earned the right to make the region of Omist our base of operations. At the zenith, our Coalition controlled 12 regions and hundreds of stars, making us one of the top powers in the game. This drew the attention of the largest Coalition in the game (our neighbors), who began slowly pushing us back in a war has lasted for 6 months so far. Due to their much large Super-Capital fleet, our Coalition is fighting a tactical withdrawal to make them pay as much as possible for their conquests. The Imperial 0rder was tasked with holding the line on one side of this conflict, and was performing admirably.
But then we were introduced to yet another aspect that makes EVE unique among MMO's...
There Is A Spy Among Us...
On Monday September 5th I received this text message on my cellphone:
From: Mellamer
6:57PM U need to get on eve. Alliance just got disbanded due to spy
I logged in to find that all of our sovereignty had been lost, all of our stations were neutral, and we were under a surprise attack from hundreds of Super-Capitals doing a blitzkrieg on our region. All our normal lines of communication for the Alliance were gone, and if we un-docked from our stations to fight we would have been unable to re-dock and evacuate ships and equipment. The entire Alliance had to sit and watch out the windows of our stations as the enemy took our region in one swift blow. What had happened was that one of the Alliance Directors (A CEO of another Corporation) felt that he was being treated poorly, so he decided to sell the Alliance out to the enemy Coalition. Using his Director roles, he disbanded the Alliance once the massive enemy fleet was ready to strike. This is what enabled them to take over our region so quickly and without resistance. Our friends betraying us, trapped in our stations, and hundreds of hostile pilots circling. Sounds like things are pretty bad, right?
Luckily for our members, Bellum Aeternus is a veteran corporation when it comes to living in 0.0. A week before the betrayal, the Officers had given orders for all corp members to consolidate all their assets into one station so that if an evacuation did have to be called, we would be able to quickly and easily load up everyone's equipment and relocate. When the enemy struck, we did not have members and equipment spread out all over the region. We had all of our ships and pilots located in the same station, and most importantly we had all that equipment docked with our capital fleet.
While other corporations were throwing all their valuables into their ships and making a ragged break for saftey without delay, Bellum Aeternus first order to members was to stay docked and begin creating contracts to have their most valuable items hauled out by the corporation. While we could have jumped our capital fleet out within minutes if we had to, we decided to stay with our members so that they would have a chance to evacuate their valuables. We would give our members a week to log in and organize their stuff, to make sure that no one would be left behind. Personally, I think it is things like this which contributes towards the longevity of Bellum Aeternus in EVE, when you have corpmates looking out for you in the worst of times.
Once a week had passed and everyone had their equipment loaded up in our capital ships, we began to sneak small groups of our capital ships out of the station in the dark of the night. This process involved officers setting their alarm clocks for 3:00AM for a week, with lots of aborted escape runs due to hostile activity outside the station. But, by the end of the second week the entire capital fleet (all filled to the brim with members' equipment and ships) had safely evacuated from Omist without a single loss. By taking all the extra time and precautions, we saved over 90% of our equipment trapped in Omist and made sure that everyone got out.
Looking To The Future
With the successful evacuation of our assets from hostile territory complete, Bellum Aeternus is now in the process of rapid rebuilding. Needless to say, a year of non-stop war had greatly depleted our ISK reserves. Currently we are giving our members a few weeks of peace and quiet in order to rebuild their personal wallets, along with giving the corporation a chance to organize projects that had long been put on hold during wartime. In fact, so much money has been flowing in that the officers decided to cut corporate taxes in half. While The Imperial 0rder may be gone, we are still friends with many of the former corporations and we will continue to live in null-security space fighting under a new Alliance.
I wanted to close by saying that I am extremely proud of all of the EVE Province members who stayed cool and collected under the incredible pressure of the last 4 weeks (and fought hard for the last year.) Your friendship and dedication to each other are the qualities that have made the corporation strive and thrive for last 5 years, regardless of the situations we find ourselves in. It is the community we have that makes us an immortal corporation in EVE, one that will never stop helping pick each other up and jumping back into the fight and having a blast while doing it.
Greetings from the EVE Online Province of Bellum Aeternus! Your most mysterious and incognito Province decided it was time for a news article to give everyone an update on how we have been doing. Naturally, we can't give you all the specifics due to the meta-gaming intelligence gathering that takes place in EVE Online (Hello Spies!), but we will tell you what we can.
Bellum Aeternus has lived out in null-security space for the vast majority of it's existence, and we have continued to survive and thrive at the fringes of space. While we were keeping a low public profile both here on the forums and in-game, our corporation has helped our Alliance Imperial 0rder fight in 2 massive wars, and secure multiple constellations of stars. I am proud to announce that our Alliance is now a regional alliance and becoming a power to be reckoned with. The growth and development of Bellum Aeternus along with that of the other corporations in the Alliance have allowed us to seize the space that we now have, and will allow us to control even more in the future.
5 years ago when Bellum Aeternus started in EVE Online, where we mainly focused on PvE and industrial capabilities to bring value to the many Alliances we have been with in null-sec. We have gradually been evolving towards a PvP orientation as our skills and experience have accumulated, and now provide some of the top PvP pilots in the Alliance (looking at you Palladion). As of the end of May, Bellum Aeternus had the most kills out of all the corporations in the Alliance. Not only have we (finally) made the leap from an Industrial corporation to a PvP corporation, we have been continually adding to our capital fleet which is now quite substantial.
Small Sortie of Imperial 0rder Capital Ships
Right now we are wrapping up deploying in our new home of Omist, a region recently conquered from White Noise Alliance, before we continue to invade deeper into their remaining space. This new home is far from empire (few roaming pirates) and extremely difficult for enemy capital fleets to reach (hard to invade). It will be excellent space for us to line the pockets of our pilots with massive amounts of ISK and to fund and develop our perpetually growing war machine.
We wanted to take this opportunity to invite both old BA EVE members to rejoin, and for new BA members interested in EVE Online to come see if this is a game they are interested in playing. We can offer both new and old members the fast-track to getting access the best and most profitable space that EVE Online has to offer, along with the support and comraderie of more experienced BA EVE members. Alone, EVE Online is probably one of the hardest games to learn and enjoy. In Bellum Aeternus, we uphold the Spirit of BA and give our new members a welcoming home with familiar faces (and voices) and tons of knowledge and support.
If there was ever a game where having a wealthy and powerful group of friends already established to help you learn the basics was incredibly important, EVE Online won that medal almost a decade ago.
The saga of Bellum Aeternus continues in EVE Online, as the members of our corporation continue developing and striving together in this dog-eat-dog universe.
After leaving The Black Isle and redeploying in empire 4 months ago, our corporation decided to relaunch the dream of having a Bellum Aeternus Capital Ship Program. Finally, after many months of purchases, acquisitions, researching, and plenty of our CEOs' blood and tears, the final products will begin rolling out onto the EVE market next week. None of this would have been possible without the remarkable dedication of our CEOs, Mellamer and Talon, who have invested heavily in making this dream a reality.
While in empire BAID also sent out an extended expedition to wormhole space to explore the unknown regions of our universe, and was able to achieve much success. BAID is now running almost daily operations, with everyone contributing greatly to help solidify the foundations of many goals that the corporation is aiming for.
A tri-weekly mining operation in full swing
As always, we extend our hand to old BA EVE members and also to new recruits who are interested in joining us in this addictive game. We will be venturing back out to lawless 0.0 space soon, so now is the perfect time to hop on board as all of our careful preparations over the last months are coming to fruition.
There have been some rather big evolutions in our Eve province lately!
A new alliance, The Black Isle, along with new 0.0 space to explore within Venal!
Blue standings with the majority of our neighbors! Experienced Fleet Commanders with terms of service in the Northern Coalition! Wide and varied PVP operations, from roaming gangs to more "secretive" larger scale operations! Corporation Carrier support.. with one member also having purchased a Rorqual quite recently!
Superb Ratting and mining! Merc, Arkanor, Bistot, Crokite and low security systems including -1.0! Corporation POS for support purposes, with Members putting up additional POS's rapidly!
Peaceful pipe and region! (relative to 0.0 terms)
If there was ever a time to get your foot back in the door or even try Eve for the first time then things are looking quite golden... Stop past the forums or jump in game and sample the spacey delights for yourself!
We'd also like to thank and congratulate Langsc, Kuroko Rei and each and every one of our members in their hard work and dedication! As a corporation every member has gone above and beyond in facilitating our transition into TBI...
As a member of Bellum Aeternus we're personally proud that time and again you exemplify yourselves in everything we pride ourselves on under the Bellum Aeternus banner!
Congratulations! We look forward to sharing in the fruitful future we continue to create on a daily basis!
Bellum Aeternus Incorporated (CSE ticker: BAID) is proud to announce that it has completed the construction of a an Archon carrier for Tribunus Tormund. The ship was constructed in its entirety by Bellum Aeternus, a major milestone as a part of BAID's capital ship construction program. The BAID capital ship program represents an investment of approximately 27 billion isk, placing BAID's industrial program amongst the elite of the EVE universe. Best of all, when you build it yourself it is 45 % more shiny!
Our little space in Vale of the Silent had a pair of uninvited guests who set up some POSes in a nearby PURE held space. Since we (The Makhai) were getting a little tired of their gank squads hurting our shipping, we and Hydra decided to send them a little message. An days worth of work later, both of their POSes were destroyed and lots of expensive equipment and ships were captured. We hope they got the message.
We've been saving our pennies for a rainy day, and I hear thunder . . .
BAID has purchased a Caldari Carrier and Minmatar Freighter for use by the Corp. The Carrier will not only help us defend our new home, but enable us to haul ice and minerals back and forth from low-sec. One jump = UPS! The Freighter will help with those larger items, as well an when we inevitably have to move.
Ph33r our 1337 haulage!
I am pleased to announce that BAID has joined up with "The Mahkai" alliance. The Mahkai are a group of seasoned players who hold a portion of Vale of the Silent, in conjunction with the Pure and Hydra Alliances. This puts us back into 0.0 space and ready to kick butt and/or take down names.
We have more exciting news on the way . . watch this space!
BAID is back in the saddle, doing a little mining op in Lowsec. Didn't make amazing money, but we're getting back into the swing of the lowsec, no sec thing.
Bellum Aeternus is pleased to provide killboard tracking services to our membership and to our alliance, Storm Armada.
The killboard is an important tool in tracking the progress of the corporation and the alliance in any active campaign. It allows us to gauge pilot activity by recording wins and losses while also gathering excellent information on the enemies that we face. We sincerely hope that this tool will allow all of our pilots to monitor their own progress and that each win or loss will stand as a learning experience.
All pilots are reminded that both killmails and lossmails generated from PvP interaction should be posted within 24 hours of receipt.
A big thank you goes out to Peter Principle for configuring the sub-domain, PHP installation and SQL database. The current layout is still using the 'default' graphics while we search for a better layout. If you are talented in this arena and are familiar with CSS templates and would like to help, please send me a PM or EVE-Mail.
Feel free to stop by and take a look at the snapshot it provides of our day-to-day operations.
