About the Handle

I played Natrual Selection, a Half-Life 1 Mod, for a few months before I got into Planetside (and met my future guildmates). I think I used to use the handle "Chain" or "Chain Reaction". Anyway, one day I'm on a server with some bozo named "Jesus" or something similar. He was passing out benedictions as he pwned it up. I thought it was a riot, so I changed my name to "St.Peter". I forgot that I had changed it and it was a few days before I noticed. It still amused me, so I kept it.

Another reason I find it amusing (and moderately ironic), is that I am a self proclaimed atheist since I was 13. As much as I'm an unbeliever, I actually know more about Christianity and the church than many churchgoers I meet. Check out my Halloween Costume from a few years back (along with my angelic wife Smile ) - I had to point out the whole "Key to Heaven" thing to a large number of Christians . . oh well. . .

Later, when I went to create a character for Planetside, they wouldn't let me use the period, so I expanded it to SaintPeter. I also used it in City of Heroes, as well as a number of Peter name variations.

In EQ2 I only kept the name for about a week after Beta. Someone reported me and it was against SOE policy to have a characher with a title or who was a major religious figure. So I got my 'Saint' lopped off . . which sure beats the alternative.

None the less, I typically riff on the Peter part of the name. I've had an "AintPeter", a "TaintPeter", a "SneakyPete", and a "DocPeter". Oh, yeah - my Peter character's last name was "Principle" Smile
