Anything by Vanilla Ice is good. Or Marky Mark.

I'm a long time Fan of the Pet Shop Boys. I always loved that they manage to give a bit of flavor to techno beyond the bomp bomp bomp.

They just came out with a new album, Yes!, which really returns to their pop roots. If you were put off by their last two releases, this is definitely one to get back on. Seriously, best album since Very.

Here is their single, Love etc. from that album:

For more traditional techno, which is great for a workout, try the "Global Underground" series - there are something like 38 of them. They have Danny Tenaglia, Paul Olkenfold, lots of the Techno greats.

Along those lines, the various Matrix soundtracks are sweet.

I also dig Madonnas newer stuff. Confessions on a Dance Floor, American Life, Music, and Ray of Light - all very workout-able.

Totally Random Recommendation: Jesus Jones - He only made it big in the US with his album Doubt, but he's got a ton more in the UK. My wife has all his stuff and it's got a good beat to it.

Anyway, now that I've totally exposed myself to ridicule, I'll bow out.

It might help if you told us what sort of music you're into.

If you're a crystal method fan they did a continuous mix for iTunes... It's called Nike run or somesuch

Edit - Linked it... Drive: Nike+ Original Run

The full mix starts slow(er) and is intended to go through warm up, workout and cool down... works well on a jogging track or treadmill but weather permitting who likes feeling like a hamster? Wink

iTunes - Crystal Method - Nike Run Original

In Seattle we have a local station C89.5fm. They are a school run dance station and they have some pretty good DJ's. Listen to their stream at c895worldwide.com/web/

Because they are state funded, they can't do commercials. Instead they have fund drives. For an $85 donation you can get their double CD (I know it's pricey), but they are all pretty current songs, very upbeat, and they are usually only lightly remixed.

Volume 5&6 are what I currently listen to. Here is a partial list of what's on these.

Vol 5
Edra - Saw Red
Renee Stakely - Lips of an Angel
Filly - Sweat (The Drip Drop Song)
Discotronic - Tricky Disco
Velvet - Chemistry
Booty Luv - Some Kinda Rush
Chris Lake - Only One
& More

Vol 6
Go Periscope - Crush Me
Deadmau5 & Kaskade - I Remember
Morgan Page - I Fight for You
Guru Josh Project - Infinity
Mia J - Headlights
Cozi - Stamina
Plumb - Hang On
& More

I suggest Vol 6 of the two.

Separately some of my favorites are:
Daft Punk - Technologic
Infected Mushroom - Deeply Disturbed
Mika - Relax, Take it Easy
Motorcycle - As the Rush Comes
Justin Timberlake - The Way I Are (So embarrassed about this one)

This is only dance stuff. I won't even list my Goth, Industrial, Hard Rock, favorites.

I love anything with a good dance backbeat.
